It is well understood that what is waste to one person may not be viewed as waste by another.

W£ PayCycle exists to give unwanted clothes a second life in emerging nations where good quality second hand clothes are badly needed.

The recovery and recycling of textiles provide environmental benefits. These processes reduce the need for landfill space.

Many of the materials we throw in landfill tips have a value and can be used again. Landfill is the dumping of our waste into an open hole in the ground, where it is buried into thousands of sites in operation throughout the UK.

The Textile Problem

Textiles present particular problems in landfill as synthetic (man made) products will not decompose, while woollen garments do decompose and produce methane, which contributes to global warming. Recycling of textiles is particularly important.
