S. and M.C. Transport Ltd. was formed in 1972 by Septimus Cook whose family have been in transport since the early part of the last century.

S. and M.C. was bought in 1982 by Paul Taylor and Nick Lyons and relocated from Darlington to the present address in Stockton. Nick retired in 2006 to pursue his passion for flying and Geoff Fletcher was drafted in, having been coaxed out of early retirement.

About Us

We provide road haulage services throughout the UK and Europe and for many years specialised in the transport of canned and bottled drinks which we back up with our own Chep Pallet account.

Our operations are not confined to North East England, we provide a full general haulage service with daily collections and deliveries all over the UK and for all sectors of industry including a significant quantity of forest products for importers, shipping lines and agencies from major ports such including Ipswich, Tilbury and Teesport.

All the vehicles we use are either owner-drivers, or from large and small (mostly private) haulage companies we have known for many years and with whom we have a very close working relationship. Performance is constantly monitored and appraised weekly to maintain the care and attention to detail we expect and provide to our customers both large and small.

This proven structure enables us to have at our disposal on daily basis an enormous pool of vehicles to call on, easily competing with the biggest fleets, but keeping our costs low to offer our customers a top quality service at a very competitive price.

S and M.C. was bought in 1982 by present owners when it relocated from Darlington to Stockton.

In addition we have developed our services for the packaging industry as well as maintaining a traditional base of all types of goods including plastics, insulation, steel work, machinery, castings and offering all types of general haulage.
